What are investment plan templates?
Our investment plan templates are ready-made recurring investments designed to help you start investing – even if you have no prior experience. They are tailored to different risk profiles and can be easily adapted to your preferences.
They’re built using globally diversified, low-cost ETFs (if the acronym ETF is new to you, check out this blog with more details here before you keep on reading this article). Most of them can even be bought with 0% purchase fees. The templates are universal and not tailored to anyone’s specific needs, which means that they’re not to be taken as investment advice. Instead, take them as a helper for your first step – which is often the hardest. You can read more about the templates here.
How does sustainability come into play with the templates?
If sustainable investing is important to you, there’s the option to tick a box and switch any of the templates to a sustainable version of itself. Checking the sustainable focus box replaces standard ETFs with ESG-focused ETFs that meet strict environmental, social, and governance criteria. Some of those assets are issued by our partner Swisscanto.

How to use a sustainable template to get the 12 CHF cashback?
To be eligible to receive the 12 CHF Swisscanto cashback on your Main account on 08.01.2026, you must be a neon user and set up as well as start using a sustainable investment plan template between 1 December 2025 and 14 December 2025:
Open the neon app, go to «Invest», and to «Investment plans».
Click on «Start saving» and «Go to templates».
Pick a template (Cautious, Balanced, or Ambitious) that matches your profile.
Tick the box to activate the Sustainable focus (required!).
Choose your monthly amount and execution date.
Confirm – and that’s it.
Important: This offer is only valid for new users of the neon investment plan. And: if you set up a sustainable investment plan template and delete it before 8 January 2026, you will not receive any cashback.
If all conditions are met, you’ll automatically receive 12 CHF on your neon Main account on 08.01.26 entitled «Swisscanto cashback».
You can adjust your plan at any time and explore performance charts and forecasts directly in the app. If you don’t want to use a plan, you can also delete it, there is no lock-in with us.
