How do you calculate how much CO2 is neutralised by the trees?
We use a conversion factor of around 310 kg of CO₂ neutralised per tree that reaches maturity. This calculation is based on the total amount of CO₂ that an average mangrove tree in Kenya neutralises over its lifetime. As around 80% of the trees planted reach maturity, this works out at an average of around 248 kg of CO₂ per tree planted.
