Warranty extension
What happens if I switch from neon free to neon plus, neon global, or neon metal while I have an active warranty extension?
Since neon plus, neon global, and neon metal all include the warranty extension, we would automatically cancel your previously purchased warranty extension in the background and then re-subscribe you to it as part of your new neon plan. You are covered by the insurance without interruption during the change.

How does the warranty extension work?
The warranty extension adds an additional 3 years to the standard 2-year manufacturer's warranty. With neon plus, neon global, and neon metal, you benefit from 3 additional years. This means that your newly purchased electrical appliances are covered by a 5-year warranty.
In the event of a claim, please submit this form online.

What happens to the warranty extension if I change to neon free?
The warranty extension no longer applies to new purchases from the time you switch to neon free. Purchases made while you were on neon plus, neon global, or neon metal are covered for a total of 5 years from the date of purchase: 2 years under the original manufacturer's warranty and an additional 3 years under the warranty extension.

What do I do if one of my devices breaks?
If your device breaks, you can claim your extended warranty via our partner's online portal. Keep the following documents ready to upload them on the portal: A copy of the sales receipt, the manufacturer’s warranty including the indication of the original warranty period, and – if applicable – a cost estimate including contact details of the certified repair centre.

Which devices benefit from the warranty extension?
The warranty extension covers newly purchased devices with a minimum value of 50 CHF and a valid manufacturer's warranty. Specifically, electrical communication devices («grey goods») such as mobile phones, computers, notebooks, photocopiers, fax machines, scanners, and games consoles, as well as electrical household appliances («white goods») such as washing machines, tumble dryers, dishwashers, cooking hobs, ovens, refrigerators, vacuum cleaners, irons, toasters, and electric toothbrushes. Electronic entertainment equipment («brown goods») such as televisions, DVD players, home cinema systems, hi-fi systems, MP3 players, photo cameras, video cameras, and GPS devices also benefit from the extended warranty.

Which devices do not benefit from the warranty extension?
Appliances and household objects permanently connected to the building, such as air conditioning or heating systems, are not insured. Appliances that do not have a serial number or manufacturer's warranty, as well as used, recycled, rented, leased, restored, or second-hand items are also not covered.

Are other people also covered?
This depends on the insurance. For example, the travel insurance covers your whole family (wife/husband, children, etc.) as long as you live in the same household. The phone insurance only applies to you and the extended warranty only applies to products purchased with your neon Mastercard. For the exact details, please consult the relevant GCI.
