Our 3-year warranty extension (with neon plus, neon global, neon metal)

When you subscribe to neon plus, neon global, or neon metal, you get a three-year warranty extension for electronic products you buy with your neon card. Which means your electrical and electronic devices are insured, on top of your normal warranty of two years, for a total of five years. The three-year warranty extension applies to grey, white and brown goods – never heard these terms before? Well, they refer to all the electronic devices you can no longer live without - your smartphone, your games consoles («grey goods»), your television («brown goods»), your washing machine and toaster («white goods») and much more.

Your electronic products must be worth at least 50 CHF and the maximum benefit – i.e., the prices of all your grey, white and brown goods added together – is capped at 6’000 CHF per year. More answers in our FAQ.

Our travel insurance: For the heavy-weight globetrotter (with neon global and neon metal)

When you subscribe to neon global or neon metal, you get access to the «travel package». Let’s imagine this: you’ve booked a trip to go to Rwanda to take on the challenge «Race around Rwanda» with your gravel bike – a total distance of 1’000 km and an elevation gain of 17’000 meters. You are ready and excited at the airport with everything you need. And then everything goes wrong that possibly could: Your flight is delayed, and your bike gets damaged during transport. Once in Rwanda, you are able to fix it, but then you crash with it in the middle of nowhere, breaking your leg, and need to be transported to the nearest hospital and treated there. Admittedly, all of that sucks. But: the travel insurance has got you covered.

Search, rescue and transport

In case of serious injury such as breaking your arm while biking in Rwanda, the insurance will pay for the costs for the transfer to the nearest hospital suitable for treatment. You’re further covered in case of serious illness or in case of death  – but we didn’t want to make the example too dark. But if that were to happen, you are also insured in case of a search and rescue operation if you’re considered missing or if you must be recovered.

You’re covered up to 100’000 CHF per year for transport costs and 100’000 CHF for search and rescue costs. Both apply worldwide if your travels have been paid at least 80% with your neon card. Important: The insurance applies in addition to your Swiss social insurances (KVG, UVG) and considering any other supplementary insurances that you have. In other words: Check with your health and accident insurance first – if you’re not covered, the search, rescue and transport insurance comes into play.

Health insurance abroad

The health insurance provides cover for 90 days if you fall ill or suffer an accident – such as breaking your arm while biking in Rwanda – during a booked travel service and if you have not yet reached your 80th birthday (sorry for that). The insurance covers up to 200’000 CHF per year for health insurance worldwide (Switzerland is not included) and if you’ve paid 80% of the travel costs with your neon card.

Important: The insurance applies in addition to your Swiss social insurances (KVG, UVG) and considering any other supplementary insurances that you have. In other words: Check with your health and accident insurance first – if you’re not covered, the health insurance abroad comes into play.

Cancellation, flight delay, and baggage insurance

The cancellation insurance provides cover if you’re not able to attend your booked flight or train ride due to illness, injury, pregnancy complications, death, strike, civil unrest, serious damage at home, failure of public transport or theft of travel documents such as passport/ID. The insurance covers the costs of the actual cancellation costs and in the event of a delayed start of the journey, it also covers the resulting additional costs. You’re annually covered up to 15’000 CHF worldwide if you’ve paid 80% of the travel costs with your neon card.

If you miss your connecting flight due to a delay of at least three hours through the exclusive fault of the first airline, the flight delay insurance covers the additional costs for continuing the journey (after claims have been made against the airline), such as hotel costs, rebooking costs and telephone charges. You’re covered up to 1’000 CHF per year worldwide – except for Switzerland – and if you’ve paid 80% of the travel costs with your neon card.

And what about the bike from the intro story? We did not forget about it: Your luggage is insured against theft, robbery, damage and loss during the trip. If your luggage arrives at your destination with a long delay, we will cover the costs of your most necessary purchases (we’re afraid a new gravel bike is not included here). You’re covered up to 2’000 CHF per year worldwide – again, except for Switzerland – and if you’ve paid at least 80% with your neon card. More info here.

Our shopping insurance – sneakers or not, no hard feelings (with neon global and neon metal)

With neon global or neon metal, you also get the «shopping package». With a return, purchase and online buyer protection, you are well covered for your shopping sprees.

Return protection

As a serious collector, you’ve bought another pair of sneakers, but once they arrive, you feel that they might be one pair too much. With the return protection, you get the full price back in case the seller doesn’t want to take the shoes back. They of course have to be fully intact and not worn. The return protection covers intact goods that are worth at least 60 CHF or more – the maximum insured amount is 1’000 CHF per year. Read more here.

Purchase protection

Let’s assume that the extra pair of sneakers that you bought are actually very much needed, but your dog chews them up the day you leave them unguarded in your entrance – the purchase protection insurance has got your back. Next to destruction or damage to your shoes, it covers you in the event of theft or robbery for 90 days from the date of purchase. The purchase protection covers goods that are worth at least 50 CHF or more and have been paid at least 60% with your neon card – the maximum amount insured being 2’000 CHF per year. More info here.

Online buyer protection

As the digital native that you are, you obviously buy those sneakers online. You excitedly open your package, but your sneakers arrive without the shoelaces, or worst case, they don’t arrive at all. Still no need to worry, since the online buyer protection has you covered against non-delivery, incorrect delivery, or delivery of damaged goods. The online buyer protection covers goods that have been paid at least 60% with your neon card – the maximum insured amount being 10’000 CHF per year. More info here.

The cyber package – navigate safely through global and metallic spaces (with neon global and neon metal)

Together with your neon global or neon metal subscription, you get access to the cyber package». What do you need a cyber package for? Picture this: You’re a hobby photographer and you take great pictures of the mountains while skiing. It’s just for fun and you post them on your social channels. After a great weekend in the powder, you wake up and almost spit out your morning coffee when you see your picture of the Matterhorn printed in the local newspaper. If that weren’t enough for a Monday morning, you check your neon app and discover five transactions from last night when you were asleep. If there was still some coffee left, now is for sure the time to spill the rest of it.

Online legal and account protection

Granted, we cannot prevent you from being shocked or spilling your morning coffee. But: We’ve got you covered in both cases. The online legal insurance protects you when you become a victim of copyright or personality infringements, or of violence of computer and internet offenses. You’re covered up to 20’000 CHF per year.

The online account protection has got you covered for financial losses resulting from misuse of your accounts and cards as well as mobile payment systems – up to 20’000 CHF per year. More details for both insurances here.

Best Price Guarantee

This insurance, as the name already suggests, guarantees that you get the best price when you’re shopping – both online and in-store. Let’s say you happily bought the newest iPhone in a store – but within 14 days, you see that another online seller is offering it for 40 CHF less. No worries: the insurance will give you back the price difference if you spot a cheaper iPhone within 14 days after you’ve bought it.

To benefit from the best price guarantee, the product must be worth at least 50 CHF. The price difference between what you paid for your brand-new iPhone and the one you saw one week later must be at least 30 CHF. More about the best price guarantee here.

Ticket insurance

We all know the situation: You’ve bought tickets for the Faber concert, have been looking forward to the event for ages and the night before the concert you get sick. No worries: The ticket insurance has got you covered. We know that we can’t make up for the experience, but at least you’ll get your money back.

The insurance not only covers you in case of illness, but your purchased tickets will be reimbursed in case of injury, damage at home, failure of public transport, accident, or breakdown of the private vehicle. The insurance covers concert tickets, entry fees for running events or other event tickets. More info here.
