Keep your card beat steady!

Everyday spending just got a little more exciting. neon is launching Card Beat, a brand-new in-app feature that adds pulse and a bit of thrill to your everyday spending by turning your regular card payments into monthly chances to win 1'000 CHF in cash.

No loyalty points, no complicated rules. Just use your card, keep your streak alive, and you could be picking up some extra cash by the start of next month.

Here is everything you need to know about how it works, what counts, and how to check your progress in the app.

What is Card Beat?

With Card Beat, every month from 1 August to 30 November 2026 brings a new draw. That means four separate opportunities to pocket 1'000 CHF straight to your account before the year ends.

The rules are simple: use your neon card to pay at least once a week during the month, and you're automatically in the draw. Every card payment you make earns you one ticket for the draw. Whatever the amount or currency, whether online or in-store, via mobile payment, or simply with your physical card, all neon card payments count. The more you pay with your neon card, the more tickets you collect, and the higher your chances of winning.

On the 5th business day of each following month, one winner is drawn at random from all qualifying participants and credited with 1'000 CHF on their neon account.

Who can participate?

Card Beat is open to any neon customer with an active neon account who is at least 18 years old. Employees of neon Switzerland AG and employees of any partner companies involved in running the draw are excluded.

How are weeks defined?

This is the part that is worth reading carefully. Weeks in Card Beat are not defined Monday to Sunday in the traditional sense. Instead, they follow the calendar days of the month:

  • Week 1: days 1 to 7

  • Week 2: days 8 to 14

  • Week 3: days 15 to 21

  • Week 4: day 22 to end of month

This means you need at least one card payment in each of these four periods to build and keep your streak running each month. Miss one period and you drop out of that month's draw – but you can start again in the following month.

What payments count?

Everything you successfully pay with your neon card counts. Whether you are tapping your card at the Migros checkout, buying an SBB ticket online, paying dinner in Barcelona via Apple Pay, all of it is valid. CHF payments or foreign currencies, any amount, in Switzerland or abroad.

Here is what counts:

  • Card payments with physical neon card (in-store or online)

  • Mobile payments (Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Wallet, etc.)

  • Payments with Joint Account cards (more on that below)

Here is what does not count:

  • neon transfers to private individuals (e.g. paying a friend back)

  • Self-transfers between your own accounts (transfers between your Main Account and Spaces/Joint Account, for example)

  • Card authorisations that were subsequently declined or not processed by the merchant or Mastercard

A quick note on that last point: the neon app dashboard may temporarily show pending authorisations as tickets. As the month progresses, any payments that were not fully processed will be removed from your ticket count. So the number you see in real time is a live count, not a guaranteed final number.

Joint Account? You get a bonus

If you have a neon duo joint account, Card Beat is even better for you. You both have your own streak, gathering all your neon card payments (being from your main account or joint account). Every payment made via your joint account equals one ticket for you and one ticket for your partner. That is double the tickets from the same payment, without any extra effort.

Where to check your progress?

You do not have to guess where you stand. Your personal Card Beat dashboard is built right into the neon app. Here is how to find it:

  1. Open the neon app

  2. Tap on «Profile»

  3. Tap on «Keep your card beat running»

There you can see your current streak status and how many tickets you have collected for the ongoing month's draw. Note that once the month ends, the dashboard for that period is no longer visible, as the dashboard starts recording the new month. Remember: the dashboard shows a live count of payments, including ones that are not yet processed, and not a guaranteed amount of tickets. Only successful payments count for the draw.

You can also receive push notifications and in-app banners to stay on top of your progress. If you want to opt out of these notifications, go to «Profile», then «App settings», then «Notifications».

How is the winner picked?

The draw is a weighted lottery. Each ticket you collected during the past month equals one entry. So if you made 47 card payments in August, you have 47 chances in the August draw taking place in early September. Someone with 12 payments has 12 chances. More consistent card use genuinely increases your odds.

The winner is notified by email by the 6th business day of the following month. neon then credits 1'000 CHF directly to the winner's main neon account within 3 business days. No vouchers, no complications: cash, straight to your main account.

One important detail: if you win once between August and November, you can't win again in that same timespan.

Can you opt out?

Yes, participation is optional. If you do not want to take part in the draw, you can opt out at any time by emailing service@neon-free.ch.

FAQ

Does it cost anything to participate in Card Beat?

No. Card Beat is completely free. There are no fees linked to participation, and you do not need a paid neon plan.

Does the amount of each payment matter?

No. A coffee for 2.50 CHF counts exactly the same as an online purchase for 250 CHF. Each payment equals one ticket, regardless of the amount.

What if I miss one week?

If you miss one of the four weekly periods in a given month, you are excluded from that month's draw. You can still participate fully in the following month.

Does a payment in euros or dollars count?

Yes. Card payments in any currency, anywhere in the world, count towards your tickets.

When do the draws take place?

The draws take place on the 5th business day of the following month. For example the draw for users with a complete streak in August will take place on 7 September 2026.

Can both partners in a joint account win?

Each account holder participates individually. Joint account payments count as one ticket for each partner, but the draw picks one winner across all eligible participants.

The bottom line

Card Beat is built around something you already do: paying for everyday things. Your Migros shop, your public transportation, your morning coffee on the way to the office, you name it. Every one of those payments now earns you a shot at 1'000 CHF. Keep your streak running for all four weeks of the month and you are in the draw. Simple.

Check your dashboard in the app, keep that beat going, and good luck!
